Piers Morgan 'TV made me conscious about my appearance'

Piers Morgan says being on TV has made him “much more conscious” about his appearance.

The former newspaper editor, 46, now presents his own show on CNN and said that his heightened profile has also increased his vanity, prompting him to enlist the services of a personal trainer to whip him into shape.

“Since being on TV I’ve become much more conscious about my appearance,” Piers said.

“You can be doing some of the best work you’ve ever done but people will come up afterwards and say, ‘What was going on with your hair?’”

Piers recently insisted he needs more time to prove himself at the network after being accused of contributing to CNN’s plunging ratings.

“This is a long-term game, and CNN looks at the big picture,” he said.

“And I’ve always said judge me by how we settle down in between six months to a year.”

Prince William & Kate Middleton to embark on world tour?

Prince William and Princess Catherine are to set off on a world tour next year.

The couple who married at London’s Westminster Abbey on Friday will make official visits to Australia, New Zealand and the Caribbean, as well as other Commonwealth countries in Africa and Asia, to ease Queen Elizabeth’s workload in her Diamond Jubilee year.

With the queen reportedly having told fellow members of the British royal family they must rally round as she celebrates 60 years on the throne, it is thought Buckingham Palace officials are hoping to capitalize on the success of Friday’s nuptials, which were watched by an estimated two billion people worldwide.

“Demand for William and Catherine is expected to go through the roof following the incredible reaction to their wedding,” a source said.

“They are keen to settle into married life and only plan the minimum of official engagements. But the Jubilee is different. Next year is major for the royal family and William and Catherine are keen to play their part in it.”

Meanwhile, the couple whose official titles are now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will reportedly be jetting off to a secret hideaway in the Indian Ocean for their belated honeymoon after RAF search and rescue pilot William returns to work in Angelsey, North Wales, for three days beginning today.

“Kate will have the time of her life. It’s everything you could want from a honeymoon destination and more. The prince’s protection officers flew out two-and-a-half weeks ago to check it out and their villa has been booked and confirmed,” said the source.

“It’s a real Robinson Crusoe kind of place. If you fancy some company there is a little beach bar and a restaurant. Most people, however, prefer to eat meals brought by the butler on the privacy of their deck while watching the sunset.”

Ryan Seacrest preps music show for NBC

Ryan Seacrest is planning to expand his business empire.

The TV star is reportedly in talks with NBC to do a music themed show.

The program won’t be a traditional competition show, and it’s not clear that Seacrest would serve as host.

At this stage, the potential series is in the preliminary stages of development, with the concept still being fleshed out, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The new project won’t compete with American Idol the FOX show Ryan is paid $15 million a year to front.

“It doesn’t make a lot of sense to host a show competing with Idol,” Seacrest said in March.

“I think it’s possible [to be the face of another show in the future], but at this point I certainly have not even gone down that road because Idol is in a great place, so I think we’re just enjoying that and we want to focus on that.”

Seacrest recently topped the Hollywood Reporter’s fourth annual Reality Power List.

The 43-year-old actor addressed the possibility of Ron Burgundy’s return to the silver screen in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s a little peculiar. On the one hand, [we were] being begged to do a sequel for such a long time, and then we finally came up with a concept that we liked, we talked to [Paramount] and everyone was up for it,” he said.

People magazine reports that Marie gave birth to Antonio Kamakanaalohamaikalani Harvey Sabato III on Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

“Antonio and Cheryl are both well and couldn’t be happier about the new addition to their family,” Sabato’s rep said in a statement.

His first middle name, the Hawaiian Kamakanaalohamaikalani, means “a beloved gift from the heavens.”

Antonio III joins elder siblings Jack, 16, whose mother is actress Virginia Madsen, and Mina, 7½, whose mother is Kristin Rossetti.

Sabato, 39, next appears in the comedy Balls to the Wall and indie drama A Mother’s Secret.

Charlie Sheen‘s divorce from Brooke Mueller has been finalized.

The couple who married in 2008 and have two-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max, together have officially ended their union, with former real estate agent Brooke being granted $55,000-a-month in child support on top of a lump sum of $757,698.70 and another $1 million for her share of their marital home.

According to gossip website TMZ, the former Two and a Half Men actor who also has two daughters, Sam, seven, and five-year-old Lola, with ex-wife Denise Richards, as well as a grown-up daughter, Cassandra, from a previous relationship will keep the family home in Los Angeles.

The documents also state, “Under no circumstances shall the child support paid by Charlie for Bob and Max be less than the child support paid by Charlie to Denise Richards for Sam and Lola.”

The news comes after Charlie, 45, lost his custody battle against Brooke.

The troubled star had hoped to win primary legal and physical custody of Bob and Max after Brooke refused to take a drug test last month and entered rehab but had his plea rejected by judge Hank Goldberg at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles.

The decision maintained the situation decided in court on March 10, which sees Brooke have majority custody of Bob and Max while Sheen will be allowed to spend time with them every other weekend from Saturday morning until Sunday evening for the first two months.

For the following two months, he will have the children every other weekend from Saturday morning to Monday morning. After that provided both he and Brooke stay alcohol and drug free he will have them an additional Wednesday morning through to Thursday morning.

Mariah Carey, Cannon renew vows in hospital

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have renewed their wedding vows in a Los Angeles hospital only days after welcoming their newborn twins.
On Sunday, Cannon confirmed on his Twitter account that he and Carey reaffirmed their commitment to one another in a ceremony held in an undisclosed medical centre, writing: "Yep, we just had a wedding in the hospital!"
He also thanked politician and community activist Reverend Al Sharpton for travelling to LA in order to officiate the vows.
Posting on his official own Twitter page, Sharpton professed that he was very impressed by Cannon and Carey's spiritual dedication.

“I feel better now than I ever have but now it’s all about how do you get that 30-year-old brain on the 20-year-old face?!” she said.

“It’s crazy that my 20s are over because it feels like they flew by. It definitely showed me that whatever I thought I knew, I don’t know a damn thing about!”

Alba recently admitted she’s frustrated that many people aren’t aware of her true “simple” nature.

“I grew up Catholic so I have lots of guilt I can’t seem to shake away. I’m really just a simple girl from the suburbs,” she said.

“But, a lot of the time, the magazines don’t show that side of me. I’m proud of my heritage.

“I need to find time to be myself and not to be only a personality part of the business.”

But for me, it was great at the time. I had the best time making those films so I am not going to complain.”

Bloom who welcomed his first child, son Flynn, with wife Miranda Kerrearlier this year recently admitted that fatherhood is leaving him dazed and confused.

“He’s amazing,” Bloom said of his little boy. “Right now I’m like, ‘Am I awake or am I asleep?’ but it is amazing.

“Having a child takes the pressure off and gives you a bit of focus. Everything else just fades away.”
