Eva Mendes has revealed
The actress, who has dated Peruvian filmmaker George Augusto for nearly ten years, said that she just sees the ceremony as an outdated "tradition".
She told Hollywood Life: "I just don't think marriage is necessary, as necessary as society makes it.
"And I don't have a negative point of view on it. I just think it's a very old tradition and if you look back to what marriage symbolises in the first place... it has nothing to do with why we get married today."
The 37-year-old has spoken of her thoughts on marriage previously.
She said: "I don't know if I want children, but the idea of marriage sounds very boring to me. I have to be honest."
Mendes also recently admitted that part of the reason she does not want to marry is because she likes to rebel.
Mendes has revealed that she wanted to become a nun as a child until she found out that they don't get paid.
Mendes explained that she was determined to buy her mother a house and so gave up on her dream of joining a convent to pursue an acting career.
She told BANG Showbiz: "We didn't grow up with a lot of money so I would always tell my mum, 'Mommy I am going to buy you a big house
"And my sister said to me one day when I was ten, 'How are you going to buy mum all these things? You are going to be a nun and nuns don't get paid'. I said, 'What?'and that was it, my convent dreams were over."

She added: "I feel I have so much to be thankful for, and it means nothing if I can't give back. I do it within my own family and I do it with certain charities, particularly the art of the Elysium, which helps children in hospital heal themselves through art therapy."
