James Brolin reveals Barbra Streisand marriage secrets!

James Brolin has revealed his secret marital bliss!

The Hollywood actor has been married to singer/actress Barbra Streisand since 1998.

“It’s being with somebody you can negotiate well with,” he explained.

“And if you need a referee, bring someone in and talk it over. The fact is, I am in my third marriage and I do not believe in divorce. But I was half the problem, I guarantee you. More than half the problem. I couldn’t negotiate with the other women. My wife, we can negotiate very easily when there is a difference of opinion. I believe that anybody who gets married should go to a counselor for months before the wedding. I think that’s going to save guys a lot of money and the ladies a lot of heartbreak.”

Brolin was then asked if he’d share the screen with his wife.

“We’ve read several things and she likes wonderful, old classical stories,” he said. “We read five or six top notch scripts together and looked at each other and said, ‘Ehh, not quite right.’ But we always had it in our minds, so you never know.”

Previous reports claimed Brolin and Streisand credit regular fighting sessions and psychological relationship shock therapy for keeping their nearly 13 year marriage together.

They often take time out for long, frank conversations about problem areas in their relationship like Barbra’s tendency to be a controlling diva and Jim’s penchant for being aloof and too much of a loner,” an insider told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“They air their grievances about each other.

“They have hurt one another during these sessions and they have both cried their share of tears, but it’s one of the things that has saved them from divorcing like so many other high-profile couples.

“They are big proponents of relationship therapy.

“They went into the marriage tentatively. Neither was looking to tie the knot again.

“But because they are both so supportive, and because they feel they can say anything to one another, it’s become one of Hollywood’s most successful bonds.

“Sometimes their absolute honesty hurts. But it keeps their marriage thriving.”
