Katie Couric says her daughter fancies Prince Harry!

“My daughter, Ellie, is in college and has a crush on Harry. She thinks he’s hot. Clearly she likes bad boys. I am going to have to talk to her about that,” she said.

Couric then praised Kate Middleton, who recently married Prince William.

“Kate seems like an all-American girl, and I think people can relate to her,” she said. “I have been talking to our British contributors about how the wedding is viewed in England and how snobby some people can be calling her a ‘commoner.’ A girl like Kate would be so celebrated in the States . . . people don’t want somebody born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Kate is intelligent and from a good family.”

Meanwhile, Couric has hinted that she’s about to reunite with her former Todayco-host Matt Lauer declaring she and Matt have “undeniable chemistry”.

Couric who recently confirmed speculation she’s leaving the CBS Evening News was asked by People magazine if Lauer, whose contract at the Today show ends in 2012, will join her in her next venture.

“Matt and I have undeniable chemistry in the most platonic sense of the word,” she said.

“We are like an old, married couple. We finish each other’s sentences. He is very committed to the Today show. But who knows?

“You never know what the future may bring. We may work together. It’s hard to say right now. We have a fun repartee.”
