Chris Hemsworth is a mommy’s boy!

The Aussie actor, 27, has admitted he wouldn’t even of had a chance of landing his superhero role in new movie Thorhad it not been for his loving mom back home.

“At first it was my brother, Liam, was up for the role but that didn’t work out,” explains Chris. “Then my mother suggested I should go for it and stood in for Sir Anthony Hopkins to workshop some scenes from the script and it worked. So I have mum to thank forThor. It’s a real family effort.”

Chris recently revealed he based hisThor character on controversial boxing superstar Mike Tyson.

“It was hard to know how to best use the hammer at first,” says Chris. “Then we struck on the idea of Thor being like a powerful boxer very leggy with a low center of gravity.

“It’s very much like Tyson so there is some of him in the way Thor fights.”
