Whitney Port 'Princess Diana is my style icon'

Whitney Port’s style icon is the late Princess Diana.

The reality TV star admires the way the British royal the former wife of Prince Charles, who died in a car crash in 1997 took fashion risks despite having such a high-profile position.

“I always looked up to Princess Diana,” Whitney said. “She took a lot of fashion risks at times when she was looked at so closely. I also love how Alexa Chung mixes tailored men’s clothing with dresses.”

The 26-year-old beauty also admits she finds her own image as a style icon “surreal” but loves to be inspiring people with her fashion choices.

“It’s surreal. I love that people all over the world can see what I’m wearing and use that as inspiration for their own look,” she said.

“I think about how I feel about my style icons and to think someone feels that way about me is crazy.”

Whitney, 26, has previously insisted she would never undergo cosmetic surgery, saying she thinks her Hills costar Heidi Montag who famously underwent 10 procedures in one day went to an extreme.

“If you really feel like you want a little nip and tuck, that’s your prerogative but that’s not something I’d ever want to get into especially to the level Heidi did,” she said.

“I think at our age it’s a little bit much.”
